Birding for Beginners: Wandering in the Wetlands

Wetlands offer birds and other wildlife a wonderful habitat to flourish within. Kansas Wetlands are considered one of the most diverse habitats in Kansas with 278 different species identified. Join us as we wander this unique habitat to expand our birding knowledge and species identification skills.

We will arrive at 9:00am for light snacks and refreshments at the shelter. We will go over some of the common species known to frequent the environment and their key identifying markers. Then we will head out on the trail to see what we can discover. In addition to unique birds, you may also see some diverse amphibians and reptiles also known to frequent wetlands.
